Today’s Prospect Spotlight is one 1st baseman Josh Ockimey. So far Ockimey’s put a nice spring together going 4-12 with 2 home runs and 2 walks in 14 plate appearances. The 24 year-old is mostly known for his power hitting 25 home runs last year in AAA. In 2019 he managed to get on base at a high rate by with a .353 obp while only hitting .204. If he can hit for average just a little more while still maintaining a high walk rate, Ockimey can become a serious power threat in the MLB.
