This week’s Prospect Spotlight is on Thad Ward. 5th round draft pick in 2018, won Red Sox minor league pitcher/year award in 2019 posting a 2.14 era, 1.156 whip, and 157 so in 126.1 ip between A/A+. Features a 91-95 mph fastball, 87-88 cutter, 81-83 slider, 76-79 curve, and 84-86 change. Will probably start the year in AA, but it will be interesting to see where he ends up by the end of the year. Don’t be surprised if we see him in Boston by 2020.
